"WE'RE NOT AGAINST ELECTION," CHAIRMAN BAIDYA

Chairman of the CPN-Maoist, Mohan Baidya, has said his party was not against the election to the Constituent Assembly. Receiving a memorandum submitted by the Reporters' Club on Monday, Chairman Baidya said however that appropriate atmosphere for election was essential.
He said a national consensus government must be formed under the leadership of a political leader. "The agreement the four major political forces struck on amendment of interim constitution needs to be scrapped."
Similarly, leader Baidya claimed that present government cannot hold CA election and even if it holds, it would not be in favour of people.
He argued that once the political parties agree on fundamentals of constitution, it would create atmosphere for writing constitution. However, serious review on why CA dissolved was a pertinent question.
"Without evaluating why the CA failed to deliver constitution, holding CA election again would not give solution," he said, adding that people needs to be informed about it.
According to him, present situation was quite discouraging for his party to participate in the CA election.
