ILLEGAL SHEDS REMOVED FROM FOREST
The District Forest Office, Kailali has removed 27 sheds constructed illegally at a community forest in Sadepani VDC in Kailali district. These huts were built by encroaching on the community forest.A joint team comprising employees of the District Forest Office and police personnel demolished 27 of 400 such sheds at Jaharmani at the VDC.
District Forest Officer, Rajendraman Singh Bhandari, said they had to take this step after the encroachers refused to evict from there despite repeated requests and notifications.
The trend of encroaching upon forest area in the name of landless squatters and flood displaced has increased in the district of late.
