Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, while speaking at a press meet after visiting Mahakali flood victims in Darchula on Thursday, said the government will provide Rs 500 million for reconstruction of the flood-ravaged district.
The fund will be used to reconstruct damaged roads and river embankments and rehabilitate the displaced people, Regmi said after taking stock of the flood-affected areas in the district.
He said each flood-affected family will be provided Rs 35, 000 as immediate relief. Regmi also said Darchula will be declared a disaster-hit district. The flood victims however expressed dissatisfaction as the government team came here only five days after the disaster hit the district headquarters, Khalanga.
